Abstract

Research training is a fundamental pillar in consolidating teaching competencies, especially in technical and scientific areas, where a deep understanding of materials and their processes is crucial for quality teaching. This article presents the training experience of a beginning teacher as a researcher, focusing on materials characterization, specifically alloys, and the use of heat treatments to modify their mechanical properties. The results obtained showed significant improvements in the mechanical strength and durability of the studied alloys, providing new perspectives for industrial applications. Research in this field not only allows the teacher to acquire practical skills in analyzing the microstructure of materials but also enhances their capabilities in experimental design and results analysis, essential aspects for their professional development. This training and mentoring process, in addition to contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the field of alloys, opens a door to the integration of applied research in the classroom, with the aim of enriching the educational experience and promoting a pedagogical approach based on scientific evidence and direct experimentation.
