Digital Preservation
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) defines digital preservation as “the processes aimed at ensuring the permanent accessibility of digital objects.”
The Revista Internacional LINKS recognizes the importance of preserving its published content for future generations of readers and adheres to the following procedures:
Document identification: Final electronic files approved for publication are identified.
Regular backups: Daily backups of the Open Journal System (OJS) and all its contents are performed using the Veeam Backup service.
Institutional security: The Technological University guarantees the security, privacy, and preservation of the site’s content through multiple layers of protection aligned with international standards.
Infrastructure: The web server and virtual servers are hosted on-premises.
Backup policy: Five automatic backup copies corresponding to the last five business days are preserved.
Disaster recovery:
-
A server recovery plan is in place that allows restoration of the previous day’s image, ensuring the operating system can be recovered within a maximum of 2 hours.
-
Additional mechanisms are available for partial recovery of files and databases, if necessary.
